This contains two rags and other songs of the early to pre-war (II) 1900's. It is Harry Epp's
Muskat Ramblers Volume Three, (Volumes I and II are cassettes) with 19 songs played by Mr. Epp
on piano and banjo and five really great South Florida players: Chris LaBarbara on trumpet and
cornet; Frank DeFranco on clarinet and fishhorn; Hank Bredenberg on trombone and 2nd cornet;
Jim Naveira on drums; and Mark Trail on bass.
The album was digitally recorded in September and is offered for $15 + $2.50 postage and
handling (for the first copy, P&H for additional CDs $0.75 each) by HeppKat Productions, 1124
N.W. 45th Terrace, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33313-6626. The album number is MR896-1 and is 67
minutes long.
Will Connelly composed Barnum Rag, which is recorded for the first time on this album although
it has been part of the repertoire of the Grand Floridian Hotel Orchestra at Disneyworld for
about three years. The arrangement is by Mr. Gary Lawrence, whose Sizzling Syncopators
faithfully recreate the sound and feel of the 20's and earlier.
